Terms of use
These terms cover the Tangy extension and the Tangy website, including website accounts. By installing or using Tangy, or creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Tangy.
What Tangy is
Tangy is a browser extension that connects to an AI service of your choice and helps with pages, tabs, search and reminders. It is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and we may change, pause or stop any part of it.
Your API key and costs
Today Tangy uses an API key you supply. You are responsible for that key, for the terms of the provider you choose, and for any charges the provider makes. Tangy’s usage screen shows estimates only; your provider’s dashboard is the real bill. Keep your key private.
AI can be wrong
AI answers may be incorrect, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important, and do not rely on Tangy for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.
Website accounts
- Who can sign up: people aged 18 or over, or the age of adulthood where they live.
- Be accurate: give a real email address you control, and keep your details correct.
- Keep it secure: keep your password private, use one you do not use elsewhere, and do not share your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. Tell us at once at support@tangyassistant.com if you think someone else has used it.
- No verification or reset yet: we do not yet verify email addresses or offer automatic password reset. If you forget your password, email us and we will help once we are satisfied the account is yours.
- Ending your account: you can delete it any time on the account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, attack the site, or are used to harm others. We may also close accounts that are clearly unused, or if we stop offering accounts.
- Your data: we handle it as described in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Use Tangy lawfully, and do not use it to harm others or to break the rules of any website or service. Do not try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of this website or its accounts, or to access other people’s accounts or data. Review what you ask Tangy to do, especially before confirming actions such as closing tabs.
Third-party services
Tangy works with services we do not control, such as Anthropic, Groq, Google Gemini, Chrome and our hosting provider. Their availability, accuracy and terms are theirs, not ours, and we are not responsible for them.
Paid plans
No paid plan is on sale today. If Tangy Plus launches, its price, limits and terms will be published on this site before you are asked to pay anything.
Ownership
Tangy, its name, look and code belong to its developer. You may use it under these terms, but you may not copy or resell it. What you write and the answers you get remain yours, subject to your AI provider’s terms. Chrome is a trademark of Google LLC. Other names belong to their owners, and no endorsement is implied.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Tangy’s developer is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data or profit, or the actions of third-party AI services, arising from your use of Tangy. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. If you keep using Tangy after a change, you accept the new terms. Questions: support@tangyassistant.com.
